“More generally, our Perinatal Mental Health Services assess patients via the Wales Applied Risk Research Network (WARRN) risk assessment, a formulation-based mental health risk assessment framework. Treatment decisions are based on maternal mental health needs, and patients can also be referred to Mental Health Crisis Teams where serious risk is identified. “We are committed to supporting women's mental health before and after birth through our dedicated perinatal mental health services, with a specialist Perinatal Mental Health midwife available to provide mental health support and awareness to patients and staff within maternity services. Welsh Government said:“We have invested in specialist perinatal mental health services, with dedicated teams now in place across every health board. Our transformation to same-day access will ensure that anyone who needs support can get it quickly, with seamless, person-centred care available across all mental health services, including perinatal support.”
