The National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ) is exploring the possibility of establishing specialised recovery treatment courts and open prisons as part of fresh reforms in the justice sector. “The NCAJ established committees, led by the Judiciary and the State Department for Correctional Services, to explore the establishment of Specialised Recovery Treatment Courts and Open Prisons,” the NCAJ stated. Chief Justice Martha Koome presenting the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ) recommendations to the public on July 29. “The Committees will assess the feasibility of establishing Recovery Treatment Courts and Open Prisons as innovative approaches to rehabilitation, reduced recidivism, and successful reintegration of offenders into society,” stated NCAJ.
