The document gives guidance on AI under four key principles: accountability, human rights, safety and wellbeing, and responsiveness. Regarding human rights, AI products in healthcare should be used in a fair, inclusive, accessible and equitable way. Under ‘Safety and Wellbeing’, HIQA advises that AI tools are continuously monitored and evaluated to ensure safety, reliability and accuracy.
