Then K9 Luffy and Officer Lacoves conducted meticulous article searches, turning up roughly six spent rifle casings and three spent handgun casings during a shooting into an occupied dwelling investigation. Shell casings at crime scenes give investigators clues about weapons used and help connect different cases. Teams train for months to develop skills needed for searching for evidence, tracking suspects, and assisting with various law enforcement operations.
