Aden — A recent humanitarian report revealed that more than 39,000 displaced families in Yemen were affected by floods in the first six months of 2026, underscoring the vulnerability of internally displaced populations amid worsening conditions. According to the Shelter, Land and Site Coordination (SLSC) cluster, 39,500 displaced families across hosting sites reported flood damage between January and June, including 6,500 families whose cases were verified. The report noted that 29 humanitarian partners delivered emergency assistance to 210,000 displaced people, including camp management and shelter services. Data showed that 142,000 displaced persons received camp coordination and management support, 39,000 benefited from shelter assistance, and 29,000 were provided with non-food items, solar energy kits, and shelter maintenance. The SLSC in Yemen is a humanitarian coordination platform led by UNHCR, combining the functions of the shelter cluster, camp coordination and management, and housing, land, and property responsibilities, with the aim of unifying responses and improving living conditions for displaced families.
