Never a Nixon fan, I give credit where credit is due. Following months of revelations of corruption at the federal government’s highest level and direct involvement of powerful allies, Nixon resigned in disgrace. While the Watergate tapes led to his undoing, courageous leaders in the Republican Party convinced him to vacate the presidency. Among them is the behavior of today’s unprincipled, leaderless Republicans, their enablers and followers. He can try defending today’s indefensible corruption.
