They may leave on probation or move to a state institution or just reach the end of their sentence. According to Westmoreland County commissioners, Steve Pelesky was placed on leave last week. So when Commissioner Doug Chew, as prison board chair, says “Westmoreland County doesn’t comment on personnel matters,” there is an honesty to that. What we do know is Pelesky’s leave is pending an “ongoing review of operations.” They are either official incidents or things Pelesky or the commissioners have addressed publicly.
