A Dundee businessman who saved one of the country’s most successful packaging firms from the brink of closure is set to retire. Jimmy Urquhart will work his final shift at Discovery Flexibles on Friday, 42 years after joining the company straight from school. Why is Jimmy Urquhart retiring from Discovery Flexibles? Jimmy led Discovery Flexibles for six years before selling the business to Sussex-based Mikani Flex Ltd at the end of last year. Discovery Flexibles on Kemback Street, which employs 75 staff, manufactures packaging solutions for some of the country’s biggest supermarket chains, bakers, confectionery and crisp brands.
