Price Gaps in BDF Food Contracts Go Beyond MayonnaiseIf you thought the controversy over mayonnaise prices was hard to swallow, the leaked BDF food ration documents may leave you with even more questions.
Now, tender documents from the 2023-2024 fiscal year reveal that similar price gaps appear elsewhere in the BDF’s food procurement records.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Defense paid Mount Pleasant Fresh Produce $28.60 cents per pack, and they were supplying five hundred packs monthly to the BDF.
The ministry paid the highest price to A and Y Fresh Vegetables, thirty dollars for a pack of coconut powder.
The ministry paid Northern Heat, another food manufacturer established in 2013, $37.20 for a case of ten-ounce pepper sauce.
