Photo Credit: Region of Murcia TourismThe Costa Calida prepares for a record-breaking busy and touristic summer: the Region of Murcia is welcoming August with a positive forecast for holiday accommodation: 89.1 per cent of the tourist properties located on the Costa Calida have already been booked, placing this area of the region above the 85.5 per cent national average. Ahead of it are only five areas in the country: Mallorca, with 99 per cent occupancy; Asturias, with 95.6 per cent; Menorca, with 94.6 per cent; Lanzarote, with 93.5 per cent; and the province of Alicante, with 92.2 per cent. The Costa Calida, the Region of Murcia’s coastline, has also surpassed booking in popular destinations including Cantabria, with 88.3 per cent occupancy; Cadiz, with 87.5 per cent; the Costa del Sol, with 86.8 per cent; and Almeria, with 86.5 per cent. Travellers looking for last-minute stays in Spain may find greater availability on the Costa de la Luz in Huelva, Tenerife, Valencia, Tarragona, and Barcelona.
