I have theorized that arm angle could also be associated with extension (pitchers with a lower arm angle might be able to generate more extension), but early research shows that arm angle doesn’t correlate well with extension. This week, we’re looking at starting pitchers who lowered or raised their arm angle by one degree in June and July compared to their season-long averages. That said, we’ll examine four starting pitchers that have been adjusting their arm angle, which seems to be impacting their pitches. Bibee has been throwing from a significantly lower arm angle in June and July, closer to his 2024 arm angle. Interestingly, while Rocker has been lowering his arm angle in June and July, his season-long arm angle is at 35 degrees, up from 30 degrees in 2025 and 34 degrees in 2024.
