Same Day ACH adoption accelerated in the second quarter as users sought its fast, safe payment capabilities, Nacha said in a Thursday (July 30) press release emailed to PYMNTS. Nacha, which governs the ACH Network, reported that during the second quarter, the number of Same Day ACH payments leapt 29.5% year over year to reach 435.7 million and the value of those payments rose 28.1% to $1.3 trillion. Nacha announced in April that it will increase its Same Day ACH per payment limit from the current $1 million to $10 million, effective Sept. 17, 2027. The ACH Network’s B2B payment volume increased 9.9% year over year to 2.2 billion. The second quarter also saw internet-initiated payments by consumers top the 3 billion mark for the first time in a quarter.
