Transports and logistics company Transnet has revealed the signing of a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Johannesburg (UJ). Nemukula commented on the occasion stating that Transnet has a responsibility to contribute to the economic growth of South Africa by creating opportunities for the youth. UJ students can look forward to work-integrated learning opportunities, applied research, the development of practical case studies, pilot projects, internships, graduate placements, and “additional opportunities”. While we will have to wait and see what other partnerships Transnet creates, this is far from the first time it has worked together with UJ. The pair have announced several partnerships over the years, and the university has even advertised funding opportunities at the company to its students.
