GLASGOW-BORN author, Douglas Stuart, is in the running to win the Booker Prize for a second time after his latest novel was named on this year’s longlist. John of John, set on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides, is among 13 books selected for the prestigious fiction prize. Stuart won the Booker in 2020 for his debut novel Shuggie Bain, a portrayal of working-class life in 1980s Glasgow. If either wins, they would become only the fifth writer to receive the prize twice. The six-book shortlist will be announced on September 22, with the winner of the £50,000 prize revealed in London on 9 November.
