Dr. Anthony Fauci received a pardon to protect him from criminal repercussions from his handling of COVID 19. However, even with the protection, Fauci chose to claim his Constitutional Fifth Amendment right and to say nothing about his role during the contentious COVID 19 period. It is a remarkable that with so many post pandemic questions, the most visible public health figure of the pandemic era, is unwilling to speak on the record about decisions he took. Although the pardon that he enjoys protects him from prosecution, it does not protect him from public scrutiny. The public relies on its trust of the public health system and its officials.
