MDOT spokesperson Nick Schirripa tells us they’re almost done reconstructing the Exit 27 ramps of I-94. “We’ll be opening the Niles Avenue ramps at eastbound I-94,” Schirripa said. “So eastbound I-94 to Niles Avenue at exit 27, and then Niles Avenue onto eastbound 94. They’ve been closed since May, forcing drivers seeking to get to St. Joseph from eastbound I-94 to get off the highway in Stevensville or Benton Harbor. “The Napier Avenue ramp to eastbound I-94 will be closed starting next week, and that will be detoured from Napier Avenue to US-31 north back to I-94.
