With rain continuing under cloudy skies on Thursday, rivers and reservoirs have witnessed a sharp rise in water levels, significantly improving the overall water scenario. Authorities have advised commuters to use alternative routes until water levels recede. Meanwhile, Belagavi city's lifeline, the Rakaskoppa reservoir, is rapidly filling due to heavy inflows from the Markandeya river. Water storage in other major reservoirs has also improved. Similarly, the Navilutheertha reservoir near Munavalli on the Malaprabha river has stored 15.35 TMC of water against its total capacity of 37.73 TMC.
