People living nearby reported hearing an "explosion" when the fire started near Stanley Wooster Way on the Greenstead estate. Crews from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS) were called to the incident at about 9.15pm on Tuesday. The East of England Ambulance Service have now provided an update. A spokesman said: "We were called at 9:20 pm yesterday (Tuesday, July 28) to reports of a fire at a property on Stanley Wooster Way, Colchester. An ECFRS spokesman said: "A crew from Colchester attended and found a small fire had started in an outdoor tool storage area.
