Colchester City Council's planning committee is due to consider proposals for the future of the fountain in Culver Square when it meets on July 30. The application seeks permission to remove the existing fountain and replace it with new seating, planters and street furniture to create a more flexible public space. The fountain was installed as part of the original design of Culver Square and includes the bronze Sea Holly sculpture by Colchester artist Tim Holding, a prominent member of the Colchester Art Society.
