Dean Lilly, 45, appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to admit one charge of possessing an unloaded air weapon in a public place. Police searched Lilly’s vehicle and found a CO2-powered revolver. He had all of his possessions in his car, including the gun, which was in the bottom of a rucksack. The court heard neither the pellets nor the cannister were in the gun. Lilly, of Ocean View, Princes Esplanade, Walton, must pay a total of £197 to the court, including a £32 victim surcharge and costs of £85.
