Uttlesford District Council's planning committee is due to consider a proposed deed of variation affecting the Easton Park development site on August 5. The proposal relates to a historic planning agreement dating back to 1939 which places restrictions on the use and development of land at Easton Lodge. Officers say those restrictions are incompatible with the approved Easton Park scheme and would prevent the lawful implementation of the development unless changes are made. Planning officers have stressed that the proposal does not seek to change the approved development, grant further planning permission or provide any additional development rights. “The variation is limited in scope, relates only to the approved development area, and is required to facilitate the lawful implementation of the Easton Park development.
