The project is being implemented by Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works as part of its efforts to boost Kuwait’s water infrastructure and support the country’s broader food security objectives by providing reliable treated water resources for strategic agricultural and related applications. CGC handles major water infrastructure and surplus water injection networks in Kuwait for clients like the Kuwait Oil Company in addition to infrastructure projects in neighbouring Qatar and UAE. The scope of work for the winning bidder includes development, construction, operation and maintenance of the treated water system. According to CGC, the key water treatment facility will help support the provision of treated water infrastructure required for agricultural and food security-related activities in the country’s southern region.
