Despite the school summer holidays reducing traffic levels, motorists are facing lengthy queues and mounting frustration, with some reporting that their usual journey times have doubled.
Drivers have faced tailbacks around works on London Road in Loudwater and White Hill and Wycombe End in Holtspur, with traffic backing up towards nearby roundabouts.
Multi-way temporary signals were introduced on London Road on Tuesday, July 28, while Scottish and Southern Power Distribution carries out utility repair and maintenance work.
Further disruption began on New Road in Wycombe on Wednesday, July 29, where Thames Water installed two-way temporary traffic lights for utility repair and maintenance work.
The project is scheduled to continue until 11.59pm on Friday, July 31, with official roadworks information warning that delays are likely.
