The contentious plan to build a commercial data centre in a residential pocket of Kota Damansara appears to be off the table – for now. Kota Damansara state assemblyman Izuan Kasim announced via Threads today (30 July) that the project’s consultant has withdrawn the planning application, calling it a “win” for local residents. In a Facebook post, Izuan said the consultant had pulled back the application for the proposed Data Center development in Section 9, Kota Damansara, and thanked residents for their efforts. Said resident soon took issue not just with a data centre going up so close to homes and the Kota Damansara Community Forest, but with the notice itself, which reportedly carried an incorrect reference number and wrong contact details.
