BASF raises full-year outlook after Q2 earnings growth and coatings divestiture

BASF has published its results for the second quarter and first half of 2026, reporting earnings growth in nearly all business segments.
The group’s sales in Q2 2026 reached EUR 17.2 billion, EUR 2.4 billion above the prior-year period, driven by price increases of 11.5 % and volume growth of 7.3 %.
Income after taxes for the half-year period reached EUR 5.1 billion, including the EUR 3.5 billion disposal gain from the Coatings divestiture.
Raised full-year 2026 outlookIn light of the better-than-expected business performance, BASF has raised its earnings outlook for the full year 2026.
EBITDA before special items is now expected to be between EUR 6.9 billion and EUR 7.7 billion, compared with the previous forecast of EUR 6.2 billion to EUR 7.0 billion.
