The warning comes following a rise in reported thefts across Oxford, with officers advising riders to use a combination of security measures to deter opportunistic criminals. Oxford East policeman Samuel French said: "We've seen an increase in reports of motorcycle thefts across Oxford. They also advise parking in well-lit or busy areas, preferably under CCTV, and using a cover to obscure the bike’s make and model. Mr French also highlighted the benefits of technology in deterring and solving thefts. GPS tracking devices are becoming more affordable and can increase the chance of recovering a stolen motorcycle quickly.
