UMUAHIA, Abia State, Nigeria — Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved payment of the first phase of the medical expenses required by veteran Nigerian actress Ngozi Nwosu, who is seeking ₦30 million for three urgent surgeries. Okay News reports that the payment covers only part of the actress’s medical expenses, with further public support still required to meet the cost of her treatment. “His Excellency @alexottiofr have just stepped in on the health issues of our Nollywood legendary actress Mrs. Ngozi Nwosu to approve the first part of her medical bills,” Justice wrote. He appealed to Nigerians to continue contributing to the actress’s treatment despite the state government’s intervention. The amount approved by the Abia State Government and the balance remaining from the ₦30 million target had not been disclosed at the time of publication.
