The Baguley Crescent Day of Action took place in Prestwich on July 24, bringing together residents, council teams, police, fire crews, and community partners to tackle long-standing environmental problems in the neighbourhood.
A total of 2.9 tonnes of fly-tipped waste and 2.2 tonnes of bin waste were collected during the operation, which focused on immediate action as well as gathering feedback from residents.
This has included joint enforcement activity, action against absentee landlords and property owners, and the demolition of garages associated with illegal behaviour.
Bury Council said that lasting progress will depend on cooperation between public agencies, landlords, property owners, and residents.
Further action is planned, with partners committed to ongoing enforcement, engagement with property owners, and identifying additional opportunities to improve the area.
