The Bee Network announced that work to replace the lift on the Bury-bound platform began today, on Wednesday, July 29. While this takes place, the lift will be out of operation. On the travel network’s website, it states works will take place during the day, but ‘some overnight works are required’. (Image: Maps)The website reads: "Passengers arriving at Heaton Park tram stop from the direction of Manchester on a Bury-bound tram and who require step-free access during this time will be able to continue by tram to Prestwich or Besses o’ th’ Barn tram stops and then request a taxi to be provided from Prestwich or Besses o’ th’ Barn tram stops back to Heaton Park tram stop. "Passengers who are starting their journey from Heaton Park tram stop and travelling towards Bury and who require step-free access during this time will be able to request a taxi to be provided from Heaton Park tram stop to Prestwich or Besses o’ th’ Barn tram stops."
