Outline proposals for the residential development at Hasley Meadows, on Horsebridge Road, have been submitted to Test Valley Borough Council, with access to be agreed now and the detailed layout and design to follow later. The site sits to the south‑west of the village, on land already under local scrutiny over the impact of extra traffic and new homes. The county’s Highway Authority has issued a holding objection, saying more work is needed before the scheme can be considered acceptable in transport terms. Surveys were carried out in February 2025 while Horsebridge Road was closed for Southern Water works, and the authority says fresh counts, including pedestrians and cyclists, are needed under normal conditions. Highways officers say the small‑scale measures suggested so far are unlikely to deliver a meaningful shift away from car use.
