['Julius Dennis']
Brisbane Times - National
Strike action that stopped Brisbane’s ferry network on Friday has concluded, with CityCats gradually churning back into service from 10am.
The strike, which cancelled all services for two hours, was part of wider industrial action that will run for the week – through to Friday, August 7 – and will include cancelled services and ticketing equipment not being available.
CityCats stopped running at whichever stop they were closest to at 8am.
Julius DennisUnionists had claimed they were forced to take action after negotiations between the Australian Maritime Union and the boats’ operator, RiverCity Ferries, fell over.
Signs posted by the council at terminals across the city warned ferries would stop running at whichever stop they were closest to at 8am.
