Wildfires and extreme weather are putting Britain's food supplies at risk, the bosses of Britain's biggest supermarkets have warned. A government spokesman said: "We will always protect the food security of this country to ensure that people have access to nutritious, affordable food. The good food bill should include legally binding targets to reduce childhood obesity, increase children's fruit and vegetable consumption and reduce household food insecurity. If we want healthier diets, reduced food insecurity and a food system capable of withstanding future shocks, action is needed across the whole system. Because the measure of a secure food system is not simply whether food reaches our shelves.
