Quarterly profits, Shell's highest since 2023, were driven by higher prices for oil and gas amid the Middle East conflict.
Qatar represents about 10pc of Shell's global gas output.
Campaign groups said the company's surging profits raised questions about whether the oil major should continue to receive government subsidies to help lower emissions.
Shell broke with its century-old history in South Africa earlier this month when it sold its 580 petrol stations there to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc).
