Professional golfer Roger Sloan now has a street bearing his name in the community where he learned the game. Merritt city council members joined Sloan on Sunday to unveil the Roger Sloan Way sign at the entrance to the Merritt Golf and Country Club off Juniper Drive. Born in Calgary and raised in Merritt, Sloan, 39, turned professional in 2009 after graduating from the University of Texas at El Paso. He has competed on the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour and Canadian Tour, recording multiple top-10 finishes and three professional victories.
