Hyderabad: Telangana High Court on Wednesday questioned the delay in setting up the proposed public health university despite land being allotted over a decade ago. Justice Jukanti Anil Kumar questioned why the proposed public health university had not been established despite the state government allotting the land over a decade ago. The primary objective of this grant was to establish a premier public health university and the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH), Hyderabad, aimed at strengthening public health research, education, and policy development in India. Legal Challenge and Interim ReliefIn response to the Tahsildar’s notice, PHFI approached the High Court in late 2013 seeking to quash the notice. The High Court subsequently stayed adverse action, leaving the matter pending for over a decade.
