The continued suffering of the people of Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) is a grave humanitarian concern that deserves the attention of the international community. For decades, the voices of ordinary people of Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) living under illegal and unauthorised control of Pakistan have been overshadowed by censorship, intimidation, and political repression. People in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) demand freedom from the corrupt administration of Pakistan, and want to become part of India. Every individual in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) deserves the freedoms of expression, peaceful assembly, and participation in democratic governance. The continued silence of the National Conference (NC), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the Congress over the plight of people living in Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) raises serious questions about their commitment to human rights.
