He claimed the road was initially taken up under another agency before being handed over to the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), but the work remained incomplete. According to him, drainage pipes were laid at several locations without being properly opened for water flow, causing waterlogging and further damaging the road. He said the damaged road has become a major source of inconvenience for residents, with deep potholes making travel hazardous. The PMGSY official said the department has completed all necessary official formalities and repeatedly issued notices to the contractor, urging him to resume work. Residents, however, have urged the administration not to wait for the final execution of the project and instead ensure immediate repairs to reduce hardships faced by thousands of commuters using the road every day.
