As he enters his second year in the NFL, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders is locked in a battle with veteran Deshaun Watson for the starting position. Since arriving to Cleveland in 2022, Watson has played in a total of just 19 games. However, an AFC scout floated the idea that Watson shouldn't be on the roster at all if he loses the competition to Sanders. "My question is whether they keep Deshaun on the team if they go with [Sanders]," the scout said. The Browns owe Watson $46 million this season no matter what, so releasing him would not be a viable option even if he isn't the starter for this season.
