'SIMPLY NOT TRUE' - Birmingham City Council rubbishes claims over plans to 'consume Bromsgrove'

BIRMINGHAM City Council has told the Standard the Second City authority has no intention of taking over, governing or ‘consuming Bromsgrove’, contrary to claims being made.
Speaking to the Standard, a Birmingham City Council spokesperson rubbished the claims.
He cited decisions taken by Worcestershire County Council – in Worcester – not always being the best for Bromsgrove.
He claimed the BREP scheme which has led to more than a year of roadworks, had been ‘inflicted on Bromsgrove by Worcestershire County Council’.
The decisionLast week, it was decided there would be a North Worcestershire Council – including Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest – and South Worcestershire Council – made up of Worcester, Wychavon and Malvern Hills.
