ELKINS, W.Va. — A man from Randolph County will serve time in federal prison for sexually abusing a minor on camera and posting it online.
According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Donald Robert Wilt Edwards, 30, of Elkins, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after investigators found he filmed himself sexually abusing and exploiting a three-year-old minor victim.
According to prosecutors, a search warrant was executed at Edwards’s residence in Elkins in December 2024, which yielded multiple electronic devices that had additional child sexual abuse material.
Edwards was taken into custody in May 2025 while residing in Baltimore, alongside 204 other alleged child sexual abuse offenders during a nationwide crackdown.
The FBI, Baltimore Police Department, West Virginia State Police and the West Virginia Parole and Probation Office assisted in the investigation.
