A court has ordered the social media personalities behind the Unstoppable Family to stop publishing content about their ongoing child custody case, ruling that continued broadcasts could cause “serious prejudice” to the two children involved. The couple had taken to social media after their children were removed from their care under the Child Protection (Alternative Care) Act, using livestreams and videos to criticise authorities, discuss details of the case and call for changes to Malta’s child protection laws. In his ruling, Judge Grixti said the broadcasts risked harming the children by exposing personal information, including photographs, sensitive details of the proceedings and the identity of their current carer. However, the court stressed that the order does not prevent the parents from campaigning for changes to the law or criticising the authorities. Lawyer Carmelo Gatt appeared for Stefan Gatt and Caroline Agius.
