The US military is considering restricting or confiscating mobile phones from some troops in the Middle East after officials warned that social media posts could provide Iran with valuable intelligence about American military operations. Sources familiar with the matter told Reuters that some US troops stationed in Jordan have already been informed that their mobile phones may soon be confiscated.
