A 2025-batch trainee IPS officer has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody after a fellow trainee accused him of sexual assault, sustained harassment and cyber intimidation following the end of their relationship.
M Uday Krishna Reddy, a 2025-batch IPS officer trainee, was arrested by Hyderabad Police on Tuesday and produced before the First Class Additional Judicial Magistrate of Ranga Reddy district at Rajendranagar.
Investigators said the accused first came in contact with the complainant, who is also a trainee IPS officer, through Instagram in mid-2025 after she responded to a post about his journey to joining the Indian Police Service.
'With this unbearable attitude, the victim broke up her relationship with the accused, and married another person.
On knowing this, the accused person started creating fake social media accounts after being blocked, threatening to release private chats, and contacting her family and colleagues without her consent,' the DCP said.
