A 20-hour police raid in West Bengal's Birbhum district uncovered nearly ₹28.5 crore in cash and 15 kg of gold, together valued at around ₹50 crore.
The seizure led to the arrest of retired government bus driver Minar Mondal, with investigators probing alleged links to an illegal mining network and absconding trader Tulu Mondal.

During questioning, he allegedly claimed the cash and gold had been kept at his residence by his brother-in-law, Tulu Mondal alias Mohd Nazibuddin.
Police also suspect he operated a network of dumper trucks used in illegal mining and managed multiple toll booths, one of which was allegedly overseen by Minar Mondal.
