Opposition MPs intensified their attack over the alleged July 20 student protest crackdown, forcing another disruption in the Lok Sabha as Parliament remained engulfed in political confrontation. The uproar erupted after Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi raised the issue in the House and levelled allegations against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, prompting noisy scenes that disrupted proceedings. Before the adjournment, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla congratulated Indian athletes for their stellar performances at the Commonwealth Games 2026. He lauded Murali Sreeshankar for clinching the silver medal in the men's long jump with an effort of 8.09 metres. The protesting MPs also questioned the Centre over alleged financial irregularities in donations made to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
