The August Nymex gas futures contract snapped a four-session losing streak Wednesday, rolling off the board at $2.725 per million Btu, up 6.3¢. The September contract, which assumes the prompt slot Thursday, rose 2.1¢ to 2.722/MMBtu. “Forecasts continue to maintain broad mid-summer warmth into early August, leaving the market focused on whether stronger cooling demand can tighten balances as the September contract becomes prompt,” Gelber & Associates said.
