A hazardous materials team responded to what appeared to be a chemical mix-up that caused a reaction Wednesday morning at a business in Huntington Beach. The business in the 15200 block of News Boy Circle was evacuated after firefighters and hazardous materials experts responded to the property. Authorities said a chemical was mixed into another chemical in a 55-gallon drum, causing an exothermic reaction -- the drum's contents quickly heated up. "The Huntington Beach Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team, with assistance from the Anaheim Fire & Rescue Hazardous Materials Team, worked together to safely identify, contain, and mitigate the hazard," the agency said.
