It is now illegal to drop off homeless people from different regions in the city of Riverside without providing a 24-hour notice, officials reminded the public Thursday. "It’s easy to make it someone else’s problem and bring someone into our city and say, 'You take care of them.' Recently, a Riverside County deputy dropped off a homeless person at the Riverside access center without connecting the person with resources, according to the city. NBCLA reached out to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department about the deputy's actions but did not hear back. Officials said they hope the ordinance will allow the city to maximize the resources and help identify the place of origin of people transported in Riverside.
