The ex-firefighter accused of murdering his wife in their North Hollywood home earlier this year is scheduled to return to court in October for a preliminary hearing. A judge ordered Andrew Jimenez, 45, to return to court on Oct. 21 to determine whether there’s enough evidence to require him to stand trial in connection with the murder case of his wife, 46-year-old Mayra Jimenez. Prior to his arrest, the defendant was a paramedic and firefighter with the Glendale Fire Department, which he joined in 2008. Mayra Jimenez was a third-grade teacher at Wilshire Park Elementary School in Koreatown.
