Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith was arrested Monday night in his home state of Nebraska on three felony charges, including domestic violence causing serious bodily injury, according to county jail records. Smith, who turned 38 the day before his arrest, was booked into Sarpy County Jail in Papillion, Nebraska, shortly before 9 p.m. Monday. He faces one count each of domestic violence causing serious bodily injury, terroristic threats and first-degree false imprisonment. A Sarpy County prosecutor told TMZ Sports the charges include attempted first-degree domestic violence, though authorities have not disclosed further specifics about what allegedly occurred. It remains unclear how the Sarpy County case, or Smith's status pending its outcome, may affect his ongoing broadcast work for the UFC.
